SolidPack is launching the first packaging made of grass board. This is the latest development in recycled and recyclable packaging materials. In the Netherlands there is natural grass (switch grass) available from protected nature areas, and until recently this grass was composted, processed into cattle feed or burned. The Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food voiced an interest in making natural grass sustainable and being able to use the fibre for other purposes.
SolidPack, manufacturer of solid board and solid board packaging, has managed to develop a more sustainable packaging made from natural grass in combination with recycled paper. This product named GRASBOX is now produced and available for several solid board packaging applications. Grasbox is produced for areas as Meat and Poultry, Filing and Archive, Fish, Financial, Flowers, Agriculture, Leisure Parcs, Natural Resources, Retail etc. |
